DDA Gates – 1 Mill Street
All Right Now were asked by 1 Mill Street, who provide a unique and collaborative workspace for their customers , to supply and install DDA Gates entrance control for the first floor workspace being taken by a single specified customer.
This process illustrates the complexity of even relatively small projects and the importance of looking for the right solution that suits the customer, the budget and most importantly delivers to the customer the outcome they wish to achieve. Customers know what they want to achieve but often are not aware of the best way to get there. They are experts in their business but not necessarily in entrance control.

As a specialist installer, All Right Now take a customer’s requirements and look for the product and solution which best fits the brief irrespective of cost or manufacturer. Sometimes even, the recommendation is to do nothing and to walk away knowing we have given the best advice we can.
The eventual installation was two Automatic Systems AL933 DDA gates with custom glass infill at the top of the stairs on the first floor.

Stephen Goodridge is highly knowledgeable in entrance control solutions and was a pleasure to deal with on this project.” Ben Fryer, Area Sales Manager, Automatic Systems
However, the initial request was for a DDA gate to be placed on a small flat surface half way up the stairs on each side of the mezzanine floor. They wanted to be able to provide a low level of entrance control just to discourage other users of the workspace from accessing the mezzanine floor.
After discussing various options such as speedlanes (too expensive), middle of the stairs (too many risks to count), bottom of the stairs (too visible), we landed on placing the gates at the top of each staircase.
The results I think speak for themselves and the most important thing is our customer is satisfied:
